Experiential learning at an aquarium (supported by Shimizu Scholarship Foundation and the Central Community Chest of Japan)

Activity archive

I took the kids on an experiential learning trip!

On this day, just like last time, I took them to the Suppaiman factory (a plum candy maker), then we had lunch and then went to the Kariyushi Aquarium 🐟

We arrived in about 40 minutes by car from Okinawa City.

We got a good look at the process of how everyone's favorite Suppaiman is made!

After that, we also got to try grabbing as many Suppaiman candies as we could at the souvenir shop! ✨

After lunch, we finally headed to the Kariyushi Aquarium!!

The children were thrilled with the abundance of interactive experiences, such as doctor fish!

A quick photo in the elevator 📸

Next, you'll be asked to summarize what you experienced today and type it into a computer!

I teach typing at the children's pace ✨ The computer I use was donated by the Red Feather Community Chest.

Even if children are struggling to keep up with their studies at school, we hope that they can learn essential skills like typing and other subjects in this safe space, and that they will gain confidence in themselves.

Thank you for reading to the end!

May you, who have read this, receive many blessings ✨
