The problem isn't just with the children.

Hello everyone ☀️

As the title suggests, I'd like to talk about the current situation we've come to realize as we enter our eighth year of working with children.

When I first started working with children, I was hoping that by dedicating my time and effort to them, showering them with love, and gaining their trust, the situation would change.

Of course, thanks to that work, I was able to build trust with the children and they began to confide in me about their problems, so the work itself wasn't in vain, but it wasn't enough either.

I was reminded of this fact once again during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As one example,

I received a consultation about a child who grew up in a home where arguments were constant, and as a result of that environment, harbored hatred towards their parents and even developed homicidal thoughts.

Whenever something unpleasant happened, he would lash out at his friends just like he did at his family, and he was struggling with his relationships.

We talked with him, and he chose to forgive his parents, forgive himself, and accept himself.

Through these children's activities, they learned to find the good in others and praise them, and they also learned to consider things from another person's perspective.

I noticed that her way of speaking had changed and her expression had become brighter as she went about her daily life.

Due to the impact of the coronavirus, we will be suspending children's activities for 2-3 weeks.

And when I saw him again after the break, he had completely reverted to his old self.

At that time, I realized that a fundamental solution could not be achieved by focusing solely on the children, but also by involving their surrounding environment and family.

Parents and the home environment have a very significant influence on children.

However, parents have various circumstances, and there are many people who need help.

Instead of assuming that the parents are entirely to blame, I believe it's important to first listen to them and find out why they ended up in this situation, what they're struggling with now, and whether they have people around them who support them.

Instead of criticizing, let's work together to find solutions to change this situation.

If we can become a supportive presence that parents feel comfortable relying on, without giving up on them, I believe that their burdens will lighten, and their children's environment will naturally change for the better.

Our goal going forward is to continue loving and engaging not only with the children participating in our activities, but also with their families as a whole!

We would appreciate your support and cooperation if you agree with this initiative. 🙇‍♂️
