Changes in children
Hello!
Hi, this is Tak-kun from the Kodomo Food Bank KFB staff! 😁
We've had some terrible weather lately, with heavy rain and thunderstorms!
This time, we'll be talking about children who struggle with studying!
Among the children who attend our facility, there are some who are extremely bad at studying.
Children who have lost confidence in themselves, even though they are actually capable of doing so if they try.
When I listened to them from their perspective, they talked a lot.
"I'm not smart enough," "I can't do it anyway," "I don't understand it," "My parents called me stupid," "I can't find the motivation."
"I can't concentrate at home," "I want to study, but I can't keep up with my peers and I'm suffering from an inferiority complex," "I don't have a goal," etc...
It might seem like a trivial matter to adults, but the children are genuinely worried about it.
To these children who are struggling, we want to show them that each and every one of them is important, and to provide a space where they can study.
Try starting with what you can do, rather than forcing yourself to do things you can't do, by tailoring your learning to each individual's level.
We strive to help students experience the joy of being able to do something and solve problems, and to build their confidence.
As a result, little by little, they started asking me about problems they didn't understand at school,
I've been seeing more and more students bringing in their test papers saying, "I got good grades on my test!" 😮
If you have children around you who are struggling with studying, please try not to get angry at them, but instead...
First of all, I'd like you to listen to them a lot. 🙇♂️
We might be able to find a solution!
