Activity report

The soldiers at the American base repaired the windows for us!

Activity archive

Hello!

This is Sunagawa from Kodomo Food Bank KFB 🎶

Actually, the building where we're creating a safe space for children is about 60 years old, so it needs repairs and maintenance in many places.

The living room windows, in particular, are full of gaps and look like they'll be blown out if another typhoon comes, so I've put duct tape over them as a temporary fix ↓

before

At that time, Mr. Umehara of Camp Courtney, who has been supporting the KFB children's food bank since its inception,

They said, "We'll help you anytime if there's anything we can do," so when I consulted them about the window, they quickly gathered people and carried out the repair work!

after

A team of six people, including Mr. Umehara, volunteered their time and effort without receiving any payment for the work. They came after their workday and quickly repaired the damage, so we no longer have to worry about typhoons!

The children also joined in for a commemorative photo 📷✨

And later, a magazine about the window repair work was featured on the cover of Camp Courtney!!

Since the building is 60 years old, the scaffolding could easily collapse, so they started the repairs from the outside of the second floor. But they said they would do anything else we need done in the future, and I was really touched by how kind and caring they are. 🥺

↑Later, we sent letters of appreciation from the Kodomo Food Bank KFB to those who volunteered. ✨

Afterwards, we all had burgers 🍔 inside the base.We had a wonderful time with a delicious meal! ✨

Thank you so much to Mr. Umehara and everyone on the team!!
